Ball Valves
Description
A ball valve, also called spherical valve, is a valve with a spherical disc, used for controlling the flow. The sphere has a hole (or port), and the flow will occur when the hole is in line with both ends of the valve. When the valve is closed, the hole is perpendicular to the ends of the valve, and flow is blocked.
Multipass ball valve can flexibly control the amount of flow and switch the flow direction. At the same time, it can close one passageway to connect another two passageways, making medium flow. This spherical valve should be installed horizontally.
Classification
1) According to driven type, ball valves can be classified to pneumatic/electrical/manual types.
2) According to adjusting type, they can be divided into flanged floating ball valves and trunnion mounted ball valves.
3) According to different formation modes, spherical valves can be classified to treaded/welded ends types.
Advantages
1. Ball valves are durable and usually work to achieve perfect shutoff even after years of disuse. They are therefore an excellent choice for shutoff applications (and are often preferred to globe valves and gate valves for this purpose).
2. Spherical valves are used extensively in industrial applications because they are very versatile, supporting pressures up to 1000 bar and temperatures up to 482°F (250°C).
3. Ball valves are easy to repair and operate. The body of valves is often made of metal, plastic or metal with a ceramic center. The ball is often chrome plated to make it more durable.
4. Adopting polytetrafluoroethylene that is of excellent self-lubrication, the ball of the spherical valve is low in friction loss coefficient, good in performance and excellent in sealing property.
5. Our sealing materials all adopt standard PTFE and PPL, carbon fiber, etc. And they are formed and cooled under high-temperature pressing, then processed by digital controlled lathe. In thus way, the sealing performance and wear resistance is guaranteed, leading a longer service life of ball valve.
